return of the blog girl: revenge of the shifts

Hello again, dear friends and readers!

It's been a long while, hasn't it? So many changes have happened, especially for us living over here across the pond. I feel like I blinked once in January and suddenly it was mid-July. Who needs New Year's resolutions when you can have July resolutions instead?

If you're reading this, you're probably wondering what I've been up to since my last appearance. It's been an eventful 2016 so far, from watching my precious baby kitten become a big fluffy cat to spending weekends shoveling giant rocks in our garden (true story) to trying to process our upcoming new status as non-members of the EU.
just a typical evening in our wee home

We've settled into our little house in the suburbs and are loving the life we've built here. I think I've settled into the pattern of work, kitten cuddles, and evenings with the husband without too much trouble. We've welcomed friends into our home and begun the never-ending project of decorating the house to our taste (stag wallpaper isn't my particular favorite). 26 is on the horizon and with it the continued confusion around why I don't feel like a grown up yet. Personally I think it might be that I haven't really updated my music selection since 2008 and as a result I still feel like it is 2008.

After a couple of blissful months on a 9-5 shift at work with no weekend hours, I am now back on the normal shift rota. It's a good thing and a bad thing. Good because it means I have days off during the week to run errands and work on my own projects. Maybe it's just me, but I never seem to want to do anything on a Saturday when I could be enjoying a cup of coffee in my pajamas at 2PM.

What have y'all been up to so far this year? Any July resolutions to share? Hit reset on 2016 with me and see where we go. :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment! It's well and truly appreciated. :)
