blog everyday in may: day three.

Sunday mornings are just the best, aren't they? It seems to me that they're the perfect time to spend as long as possible in your pajamas, drink limitless cups of tea, and daydream.

This Sunday morning I'm day dreaming about all the beautiful places I want to travel, thanks to Belinda's prompt.

My travel bucket list looks something like this:

Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye has been at the top of my travel list since I first started looking at moving to Scotland. It's everything you think of when you think of Scotland--just pure windswept gorgeousness.

One of these days I'm going to rent a car and drive north until I hit the fairy pools. With a population of 10,008 (according to Google), Skye is the perfect place to get away from the city and explore the wilderness.

Iceland road trip

I am a huge fan of road trips. I've done two up the East Coast, and to me it just can't get much better than the open road and a tent in the trunk. Add that to Iceland's incredibly varied landscape, and you have the makings of a dream journey.

Hot springs, glaciers, craggy mountains...my fingers are itching to make a driving playlist already!

I love driving, too, which is probably why I love road trips so much. If I could convince a couple of friends to hop in the backseat, I'd be set!

Cornwall

Cornwall has been on my travel bucket list the longest, thanks to a little book series by Susan Cooper called The Dark is Rising. Filled with Arthurian legend, mysterious strangers, and hidden treasure, I read those books over and over again as a kid.

Now, as a resident of drizzly Scotland, I can appreciate Cornwall for other reasons. Sandy beaches, clear water...sigh.

I can just picture myself sunning on the sand and going absolutely nowhere near the water (I'm sure it looks warmer than it is). Plus I'd get the advantage of seeing some of the absolutely darling towns and villages that dot the coast, hopefully with a heavy hand for ice cream. :)

What about you? Where are you wanting to travel to next?

xoxo

    1. No matter how often you travel, the list always seems to grow, doesn't it? :)

  3. The Isle of Sky and Iceland have been on my list for a long time. I am going to plan trips as soon as I get settled in Edinburgh soon. Cornwall has never been on my radar, but the pictures are so pretty. I must add it to my list!

    1. I feel like there are so many beautiful places in the UK that I haven't even heard of yet! It's hard to keep track of all of them when the whole country looks like a movie set.
