happy friday

Hey, y'all!
Hope you're all surviving your week and looking forward to the weekend. :)

I've had a busy couple of weeks myself, what with Fiancé visiting and a beautiful engagement party happening at our house. Things have been pretty lively and fabulously fun here. We're in the final two months of our engagement, which is completely and totally insane. But it certainly made saying goodbye at the airport a bit easier this time around--that and the knowledge that if all goes to plan, that's the last time we'll need to do it. (please, UKBA, be kind and generous)

This last bit of time while I'm in the States is going to be hectic, bittersweet, and exciting. One transatlantic move, showers and parties, and a wedding...it's a lot for one girl in two months! But I'd like to end this week on a very happy note. While I was in Scotland in March, we met up with our fantastic photographer, Loraine Ross, for a little engagement shoot.

...would you like to see some photos of our day?

:)

I'll just assume that's a yes!

We just spotted a puppy. Yes, those are our "PUPPY!" faces.

Also, I just want each of you to know that I was absolutely shivering in all of these photos. I had planned my outfits for some mystical made-up Scotland with beautiful spring weather. What I got was 41 degrees with a windchill that brought it down to 36. And I was in a sundress and heels.

Let's hope our wedding day is a bit warmer, ok? All y'all better start crossing your fingers!

A million thanks to Loraine, champion photographer extraordinaire who survived cold weather, outfit changes, and lots of puppy sightings. She was awesome.

Happy Friday, y'all! Have a fantastic weekend.

xoxo

  2. Beautiful! Did you have to talk him in to engagement photos since they aren't very common over here? x

  3. Thank you! :)
And yay! How are you liking it so far? Settling in alright? We've got a new flat in the West End, too. It's such a lovely place to live!

  4. Thanks! Before we picked a photographer, I was having a hard time convincing him into engagement photos. But Loraine was offering a pretty good deal with the engagement shoot thrown in. Since it was included, it didn't take much convincing!

And thank you again for your fabulous visa help. The application is going in the mail this week! (insert terribly frightened face here)

  6. Yes we are really enjoying all the great options of food here. It's great to be able to walk everywhere too. We probably pass each other sometimes haha. Of course the West End can feel very big if you are walking it.

  9. OH my goodness, so many good places for food! It's a good thing we won't have a car--have to burn of all those calories somehow! ;)
And I definitely agree about the size of the West End. It looks so little on the map, but feels so big when you have to walk several miles to get anywhere. I'm looking forward to living more centrally, rather than out by the river.

  10. Aww, thanks Jess! I was so glad that you guys were able to make it. And it looks like it's going to be a big summer for both of us, huh? Handling the packing alright?

(Also, give Brooklyn a little snuggle from me!)

  11. Thanks! I think my man seriously underestimates the amount of decoration that our flat is about to be dominated by. ;)
