life lately.

To all of you out there planning a wedding AND managing full-time work, I can honestly tell you that I am majorly impressed.
Wedding planning is like a job in itself. I get up in the morning, have my coffee, open my laptop, and google away. My inbox is overflowing, my planning binder is threatening to explode, and my timeline is getting disturbingly shorter. I was hoping to write more about wedding planning, but I have to admit that while it's all very exciting to me, it's not really exciting to write about. I get bored halfway through the posts I start and I figure if I'm bored, you will be too. Our wedding is going to be magical and lovely not because of the favors or my shoes (though those will both be awesome), but because we're starting a marriage in the presence of our families and friends. I've been silly in pledging to write about certain things instead of just writing what I feel like writing. Maybe that's not how things are done on some blogs, but hey, this is my blog. I get to do whatever I like!

And I always like to cuddle puppies.

Part of the reason I'm uninspired to write about wedding planning is probably because it is entirely consuming my life at the moment. It's what I do all day. It's what I talk to people about constantly. And I'm more than a girl planning an admittedly kick-a** party. So here are some of the other things I've been doing with my life:

++traveling: I just got home last week from a surprise visit to the Fiancé! We ate cake, had our engagement photos done, and got a new flat. I also got to confuse the trousers off my man, which is oodles of fun. Have I mentioned lately that my mom is the best? Because she is and the surprise visit was totally her idea.

++ reading: Mad About The Boy, for the billionth time already. I will never stop wanting more books about Bridget Jones. There is no such thing as too much Bridget.

++ listening: A combination of the Avett Brothers and my new writing playlist. The former is an old obsession coming back to life and the second is a hodge-podge of Frozen, Led Zeppelin, and Carla Bruni. What can I say? I like a lot of things.

++watching: Just finished The Newsroom in a total binge. I desperately want more. If someone could please just promise to make that show for the rest of my life, I'd be delighted. You will? Fabulouuuusss.

++creating: I'm knitting a scarf. It's been a real pain in the tookus, but I think I've finally got a hang of the pattern and in a yarn that I won't run out of. grrrr that was frustrating...So far so good!

++writing: SO MANY EMAILS. I feel like I've been buried in an avalanche of wedding emails and it's just my head poking out. Maybe someone could find me by my ponytail and toss down a bottle of sangria?

ps: not joking about the sangria. Sangria is serious business, y'all.

  1. Yay! Goodluck with everything going on. I understand not wanting to write about all the wedding planning.

  2. Thanks, Kelly! Wedding planning is fun, but also overwhelming. There's so much more going on!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! It's well and truly appreciated. :)
