oh, lizzie.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favorite books.

I know, you're all shocked. A feminist English major obsessed with Jane Austen? Totally novel.
(Hahaha! I didn't even mean that pun. Blame my pun-obsessed flatmate.)

My love for all things Austen may not be original, but I have an adaptation for you that definitely hasn't been done before. No, it's not Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (insert eye-roll here).

It's The Lizzie Bennet Diaries! Have you heard of it? I watched every single video in three days. And now I'm stuck waiting on the next video like all the other fans! It's torture, I tell you. This adaptation is a shared brainchild of Hank Green and Bernie Su. If that doesn't convince you of the sheer awesomeness of the series, we have bigger issues. The series is set up as the video blog of Lizzie Bennet, and it's all kinds of amazing. It's been modernized to adapt to things like texting, twitter, and the general interwebs. The cast is fantastic, and I've really loved seeing all the parallels between the web series and the book. I've enjoyed trying to guess how they're going to modernize certain things that wouldn't have the same social context, like Lydia's predicament and Georgiana's involvement with Wickham. I've heard it's coming to an end soon, which will be really sad. You should check it out and let me know if you like it as much as I do. I really hope you enjoy it!
