where have i been?

I know that not blogging for almost a whole month (has it really been that long? gulp.) makes me pretty much the worst blogger ever. In my defense, I seem to have reached that point in the semester where work is starting to pile up. And in case I haven't mentioned it yet, I now have a job that requires me to go in and actually work. I know, right? Ugh. Working.

So here are a few photos of what I've been up to since you saw me last:

We had an actual snow day! Kind of. The snow fell and tried really hard to stick. Poor Lord Kelvin looked rather chilly.

Boyfriend and I had a lovely Valentine's night out to Sloan's in City Centre. They run a program called Eat Film, which does exactly what you would think: dinner and a movie. For Valentine's, they did a special menu and a screening of When Harry Met Sally. We both had a delicious dinner and shared a knickerbocker glory for dessert. If you don't know what that is, it's ok, we had to google it first. And in case you're wondering why Boyfriend is all dressed up and I'm not, I had to wear my outfit to class and he told me the place we were going wasn't that fancy. I can't complain too much, though, because he bought that bow-tie special--just to surprise me. :)

After a couple of days of attempted snow, we got sunshine. I now run a weather service called, "What the $&#* Weather." You can subscribe by texting me and asking me how I feel about the weather. I will answer in emoticons depicting what Glasgow is doing today.

One of my goals for this year was to initiate Family Dinner with my friends. Friends are the family you choose for yourself, and it's sad how little I see of my Glasgow family lately. So every Sunday evening, we get together, make dinner, and catch up. This week's dinner involved fajitas, flat-sitting, and this fluffy creature named Inga.
SHE IS SO FLUFFY.

I've started working on my dissertation. And by "working on" I mean that I've ordered a few books on interlibrary loan. To no one's great surprise, I'm headed for a project that will look at women and gender in Glasgow museums. More details will appear as I figure out what I'm writing about. If you've written a major paper before, I know you understand.

I have some posts lined up for next week, but I will be entrenched in a Phenomenology essay due on Friday. What is Phenomenology? Well, if I knew, it would probably make writing this essay easier.
So keep an eye out for some new posts this week--a big day is coming up next week and I have a special post planned. And wish me luck and sanity for my last month of classes!

xo,

Exactly like that.
